How we advance acoustics…
We work to promote the dissemination of knowledge of sound among the public and design professionals.
Students: We develop programs for the inclusion of music, sound, and wave physics in children’s education. Programs include exhibits and outreach initiatives.
Higher Education: We seek to elevate research for cultural topics that in many countries are less well supported, and provide support to educators who would like to raise awareness of sound-related issues in the next generation of practitioners.
Professionals: We work with professionals globally to promote awareness in the architecture and engineering fields regarding cultural, social, and health-based topics in sound.
The Pachyderm Acoustical Science software curates new and old simulation techniques in physical acoustics, while helping professionals and students alike understand the role of sound in the built environment.
When the software is used by a designer, the seeds are planted for a space in the future to be improved, either by allowing for better communication of voice or instrument, ensuring hearing safety of the space’s occupants, or simply by making a space quieter.
The users are a key component in the fulfillment of the mission of the organization.
When the software is used and contributed to by researchers, everyone’s understanding of sound grows; and we approach better solutions for understanding the impact of sound and acoustics on our environment and each other. Help us advance the understanding of sound. With a concerted community effort, we can advance the science of acoustics and acoustics simulation much faster and more thoroughly than ever before.
